if you feel like giving up

Episode Summary

have you ever tried something you thought you'd be good at and immediately wondered, "wait, why do i suck at this?" if you've ever wanted to give up because something felt way harder than you expected, this conversation is for you. this week, one very humbling heels dance class turns into a spiral about being a beginner again, comparison, and the deeply frustrating experience of not being as good at something as you thought you'd be.

Episode Notes

this week, we're talking about wanting to give up - because apparently spending $279 on dance heels does not automatically make us good at dancing in them 😂

somewhere between the shaking ankles, bruised knees, sitting in the back of class, and watching everyone else make it look suspiciously easy, the spiral became about something bigger than dance.

what happens when we remember being good at something, but the version of us showing up today can't just pick up exactly where we left off? and why is it so hard to give ourselves time to get good at something when everyone around us seems to already have it figured out?

if you've ever thought, "maybe i just suck at this," and immediately wanted to quit, you're in very good company.
